INNER CHILD
INNER CHILD

This work is oil, acrylic, and posca pen on unstretched canvas. My intent behind this work was to make it seem like it came from a little kid. Growing up, I always wanted to be an artist. As I grew older I sort of let these dreams be stripped away by life experiences and people telling me that it was unrealistic. It wasn't until my sophomore year of college where I began to take my work as an artist seriously, switching my major and declaring that I was pursuing this journey with my life. I knew I needed to cut away the parts of me that no loner served me, the parts of self doubt I carried with me. I wanted to reconnect to my inner child and follow my dreams, opening doors for myself by doing so. My message reads as, "Inside every adult is a child waiting to be reconnected to, craving expression, seeking release from the idea that the child within is not the present self".
This piece belongs to someone who takes comfort in this message and understands the importance of following your passion.
